The OU College of Medicine’s School of Community Medicine Summer Institute captured the tacit knowledge of the Tulsa community and its needs and vision for a healthier future. Over five days, teams of OU-Tulsa faculty with first year medical and Physicians Assistant students attended a morning lecture, traveled into the community to conduct interviews with stakeholders, engaged in small group conversations to tease out themes, and imagined their role in bringing a new kind of health care into being. By week’s end, nine interest groups presented solutions to problems that will potentially provide more effective healthcare.
