American Medical
School Graduates
OU-Tulsa welcomes all American Medical School Graduates, Allopathic
and Osteopathic, who are interested in applying for a Preliminary or Categorical residency position. Our requirements for American graduates are listed below.
Resident Eligibility Policy
To qualify as an American Medical School Graduate, you must meet one of the following criteria:
- Graduates of medical schools in the United States and Canada accredited by the Liaison Committee on Medical Education (LCME).
- Graduates of colleges of osteopathic medicine in the United States accredited by the American Osteopathic Association (AOA).
Application Requirements
- Two letters of recommendation from medical school professors who have observed and have knowledge of your clinical skills. It is preferred the recommendations come from physicians in the field of internal medicine or a subspecialty of internal medicine.
- A fully completed ERAS application, including (but not limited to) the following:
- The common application form
- USMLE transcript
- Personal Statement
- Medical School transcript.
- Dean’s letter
- It is preferred that all applicants pass Step I and II before interviewing.
- USMLE Steps I and II MUST be passed before ranking.
